The Spine Gym
Abdominal and spinal core muscuar support is one of the biggest contributors to having a healthy and pain free back. These muscles provide a tight "air bag" which is the abdominal cavity, allowing the spine to move in an appropriately graduated and protected way. By having tone in these muscles, around 50% of the load is taken off the discs and joints in the lumbar spine and transmitted into the pelvic bones, to the hips and then legs.
The Spine Gym, developed in Finland, has been designed to strengthen spinal core muscles, through as little as 5 minutes of exercise three times a week. It is simple, easy to set up and use, takes up little floor space, being upright, but most of all, it works.
